Access: The nearest airport is Chambery 100km (63 miles),
while Geneva is 200km (125 miles) and Lyon (Saint-Exupry) 195km (122 miles). Car
rental available at the airport or there are bus and train connections to Saint
Michel Valloire, 17km (11 miles) from the resort.
Valloire is easy to reach by car along A43 through St Jean de Maurienne, exit at
Sainte Michel de Mnne, then its 17km (11 miles) of easy climbing to Valloire along
the D902. Snow chains or snow tyres should be carried in case of snowfall.
Valloire in winter
Valloire offers great ski possibilities. 70% of the domain, culminating
at 2600 m, is above the 2000 metre mark, with a 1170 m difference in altitudes.

Red 23, Black 4. The snow cannons mean that even when snow is scarce you can ski
back to the village.

The after skiing is really important with an artificial ice rink, an indoor bowling, a keep fit centre with gym, stretching, sauna and sunbed, a cultural centre with cinema and library, classical music auditorium, paragliding, husky rides, local restaurants, pubs, discos, etc. For many years in January Valloire has organized an International Ice and Snow Sculpture Contest.
Valloire in summer
Valloire is on the Route des Grandes Alpes as well as having many km of marked walking trails. There's mountain biking, climbing, canyoning, and guided walking for all levels. In the village you'll find a heated outdoor swimming pool, an ice rink, bowling, paragliding, archery and mini-golf.
