The village of Meribel (1450 m) is charming with lots of character. Meribel Mottaret (1800 m) is the satellite village above built in the same Alpine style and has a separate selection of shops and restaurants. Meribel Les Allues (1100 m) is 5 km below the village and is connected by cable car. Cross country skiing, snow walks. In Meribel village: ice rink, heated swimming pool, squash, gym, sauna, steam bath, massage. Good selection of shops, restaurants, discos, cinemas.

Access: The high-speed TGV train and a four lane road (the N90) reach the nearest town of Moutiers down in the valley and the final 18km (11 miles) up to the resort can be made by bus or taxi for rail travellers.

Drivers should take the A43 as far as Albertville, then the N90; they should have snow tyres or chains for the final stretch of road up from Moutiers, in case of snowfall.

The nearest international airport is Geneva: 82 miles. Coaches run from there to the resort. A closer domestic airport is at Chambry 60 miles and there is also Lyon Satolas 115 miles, which also has a coach link. Moutiers approx 18 km (railway station with bus connection).
