This elegant international spa and sports resort, situated 70 km south-east of Geneva, has retained its character and charm. Easily reached by car from Geneva or Annecy. Nearest railway station: Sallanches 12 km. Bus service from Sallanches.

Megeve is a chic resort with narrow streets, village squares, 200 shops and boutiques, and a superb sports centre with a swimming pool and ice rink. At night the buildings are floodlit and the trees filled with sparkling lights. There are over 80 restaurants, many bars, night clubs, jazz clubs, a cinema, discos and a casino.

Access. Megeve is 70km (43 miles) from Geneva which is by far the closest airport. Lyon is 180km (112 miles). Take the A40 to exit 20 or 21 from where it's an easy 10 mile drive to the resort. There is a small domestic airport at Annecy and an altiport at Megeve itself.

The nearest railway station is at Sallanches, 12km (7 miles) away. It's also possible to take the TGV to Annecy from where a coach service links the resort.

Drivers will find three public indoor car parks in the village which can accommodate 1000 cars.

In resort there is a free ski shuttle bus, taxis or even horse drawn sleigh rides.

Skiing: The resort links with St Gervais, Combloux and Les Contamines to form the excellent Evasion Mont Blanc area.
