Although the skiing is not extensive, the village has a special attraction in the form of its thermal baths. As well as the public baths, which cost about 20 CHF per day, several hotels and guest houses have their own baths - there are 22 pools in all. You could easily spend all day relaxing in the pools and never ski an inch!
The Leukerbad thermal springs yield 3.9 million litres of thermal water at a temperature of 51 Celsius per day. Experience the largest spa and wellness destination in the Alps in winter, and enjoy a different kind of apres-ski: After an active day on the slopes of the Torrent winter sports region, or the attractive alternatives such as cross-country skiing, sledging and winter hiking in the Gemmi region, you lie back and relax in the warm thermal water, while the snowflakes dance around you.
Depending on the time of year, Leukerbad offers a wide range of winter and summer sports including Alpine and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, bungy jumping, lama trekking, squash, mountain biking, tennis, golf and many more!
The attractive small village of Inden, with its lovely church, is about 6 km down the valley from Leukerbad. The two villages are linked by bus.

to the Gemmi Pass takes you to some wonderful hiking and walking. The whole region
is superb for walking and mountain biking.

The other cable car carries you to the Torrent ski area where there are more than
50 km of pistes. Most of the runs are best suited to intermediates. Not only ski
enthusiasts but also panorama lovers and sun worshippers can enjoy the scenic views
of the four thousand meter high peaks of the Valais Alps. Cross-country skiers can
exercise near the village or at Gemmi 2350 m above sea level.
