General information
Gstaad is best suited to beginners and intermediates, but don't expect a
cheap holiday here. The skiing is split into three distinct areas, although the
lift system makes getting around easy. You will probably need to catch the frequent
ski bus to start skiing, though. The resort doesn't boast many black runs, but
there's some challenging skiing nonetheless. A big plus is easy access to the
glacier at Les Diablerets. Opportunities for snowboarding are adequate, and cross
country skiers are well-catered for.
