Adelboden is linked to the neighbouring resort of Lenk, and both offer plenty of good quality skiing on slopes mostly suited to intermediates, although facilities for beginners are excellent. The villages are situated in the heart of some of the best skiing in Europe, midway between Wengen and Gstaad. Yet Adelboden and Lenk are much less glitzy than these, and offer a genuine taste of Swiss mountain life, complete with jingling cow bells and some excellent mountain hostelleries. Adelboden is an unspoilt typical mountain village, with pretty wooden chalets.
