DFDS Seaways have cancelled the Liverpool/Birkenhead to Dublin ferry crossing as from the end of January 2011. The last sailing from Dublin will be on the 29th January 2011 and the last departure from Liverpool/Birkenhead on January 30th 2011. you might like to take a look at the services from Stena Line or Irish Ferries.

NorfolkLine have now merged with DFDS Seaways, and over time the NorfolkLine name will disappear. So you can enjoy the same high level of service which has earned both companies many accolades over the years. As part of the DFDS group of companies, DFDS Seaways (previously known as Scandinavian Seaways) is one of the largest shipping lines in Europe. The company has operated passenger and freight services for over 130 years, with unrivalled experience of the routes between the UK, Ireland and northern Europe.

Liverpool - in fact Brikenhead - is well-connected to the rest of England by the M62 motorway, so it represents an excellent choice for easy access bewteen England and the Republic of Ireland. The ferry crossing between Liverpool and Dublin is operated year round by two vessels, the Liverpool Seaways and the Dublin Seaways. These modern ships sail twice daily in both directions, offering daytime and overnight ferries between Dublin and Liverpool. The ferries take about 7 hours for their crossing.

If you take the overnight crossing you will enjoy the comfortable cabins, with different options to suit your budget, and passengers on these crossings benefit from complimentary dinner and breakfast. As of 1st February 2011, evening meal and breakfast will no longer be included in our night sailing fares. Daytime travellers can enjoy a good choice of lunch at competitive prices. In addition to the restaurants there is a good selection of bars, coffee shops and excellent shopping facilites. It is also possible to upgrade to Club Class which entitles users to table service in the restaurant with a complimentary carafe of wine, as well as 20% discount in the shops, amongst other benefits.

The ships have play areas for children, and dogs can be taken on board and kept in special kennels for the duration of the voyage. Access to the kennels is not possible when the ship is at sea.

The ferry to Dublin departs Liverpool from the Quays Terminal, Tower Road, Birkenhead, Wirrall, CH41 1FE and the Dublin terminal is at Alexandra Road Extension, Dublin Port, Dublin 1. Check in opens 2 hours before sailing and closes 1 hour before departure.
