The port of Dover is situated in south-east Kent, just 25 miles from France. Dover
is best accessed via the M20/A20, and is about 1 hour's drive from the M25.
Calais ferry port is just outside the town and as you leave the port you feed straight on to the A26. From Calais to Paris takes about 2 and a half hours on the A26/A1. If you are heading towards the South of France, Switzerland, Southern Germany or the Alps, bypass Paris by following the A26 to Reims then onwards.
